Niels Turns 1

Wednesday, June 25, 2014
This happy baby is so much fun!  At 1 he just started getting his top 4 teeth and bottom 2 teeth at the same time.  He loves to smile, and he tries to keep up with Hazel and Hattie.  He is such a joy to have in our family!

The day of Niels' birthday we went up Hobble Creek Canyon with my Sister Paige and her family and had tin foil dinners and s'mores.  The following day was Sunday and we did a little family party with Brendan's parents and Blake and Katie.

Paige and Blake's Birthdays

At the end of April we unfortunately had a funeral in Salt Lake for my cousin, and so we had family come into town.  Everyone was here except my dad, and two of my sisters and their families.  It was the same weekend as Blake's birthday and a couple of days away from Paige's, so we celebrated together as a family dinner and ice cream cakes.

For some reason it became a game to see who could jump and touch the ceiling with their head.  I love all of the onlookers.  I think Blake was the only one that could actually do it.

Easter Sunday and BYU Easter Egg Hunt

Tuesday, June 24, 2014
Brendan has a friend that does watercolor paintings and we wanted her to do one of our family, but we needed a current picture, so on Easter Sunday we went and took some photos.  The watercolor painting turned out really cute too!

Oh and I made my favorite carrot cake recipe because it was Easter.

BYU Egg Hunt

This was our first year going to the BYU Easter Egg hunt, and it was complete chaos.  We will definitely not be going back next year.  It started out with us getting there an hour before it started and waiting in line.  There were 2 different times posted online, so I wasn't sure.  We met up with my friend Tabitha and her cute kids, and my sister Paige and her kids too.  They let the parents go on the field and there were so many people that it was hard to find your kids.  Luckily we didn't lose anyone.

Later in the evening at Rock Canyon Park there was a spring festival that we went to.  It was a lot of fun, and there was a beautiful sunset.

Nielsy

This little guy is the cutest thing.  I feel really bad that I don't record about all of the cute things he does like I did with Hazel and Hattie.  Hazel and Hattie started calling him Nielsy and it kind of just stuck.  I LOVE his smile.  It is so cute!  Hazel and Hattie had just gone outside and left him inside, so he was trying to escape.

Zion National Park and St. George

In the middle of March one day we just decided we wanted to take a weekend trip to St. George.  We left early Saturday morning and went hiking in Zion National Park together.  The girls really enjoyed hiking and were sad when we told them it was time to turn around and go back.  We went out to dinner in St. George and got a hotel for the night.  On Sunday we went to church across the street from the temple and then walked around the temple grounds.  We also took a tour of Brigham Young's summer house.  On our way out of town we stopped in Kolob Canyon.

Sicily's Baptism, Bowling, and Big Burgers

A couple days after New Years, we headed up to Boise for my niece's baptism.  It was a quick trip, but a fun one with family.

Sicily served the root beer floats.

These two are pretty much best buds.

Living in California, Ivy and Holly have never really played in the snow, so they were excited to get outside.

This was Hazel's first time bowling.

After bowling we all went out to Big Jud's.  Brendan did the 1lb burger challenge and won.  You have to eat the burger, fries, and drink within 30 minutes and you get your picture on the wall.

New Year's Eve

For New Year's Eve we went up the canyon with Bruce and Jessica and Brendan's family.  We made homemade pizzas and salad, played ping pong, watched movies, and went sledding and snowmobiling.
