Cherry Picking

Wednesday, June 25, 2014
We went to a farm in Payson with my sister Paige and her kids.  They are organic and only about $2 a pound.  The kids had fun climbing the ladder and trees to fill their buckets.  It was a little hot in the beginning, but once we found some shade and took a break with our snacks, we were in much better shape.  It was such a fun day, and I can't wait to do it again next year.  We each picked about 10 lbs of cherries.  We have been eating lots of them by the handful, but we also made some delicious cherry pot pies served with a scoop of ice cream.  Delicious!

Hazel turns 5!

Hazel requested I make her a strawberry cake.

We had a little family party on her birthday with Blake and Katie and Brendan's parents.  Blake got her a big glider plane, a rocket, and water balloons.  If he wasn't already her favorite uncle, I think he definitely is after these cool gifts.

Brendan's parents bought her two Blue Rays and these cute adirondack chairs.  Niels was enjoying them too.

Brendan and I bought Hazel her first two wheeler.  I was a little reluctant about the banana seat at first, but she loves it and she gives Hattie rides on the back.

Garden Tea Party

A week after Hazel's actual birthday we had a little garden tea party with 5 of her friends from her church class.

I just LOVED these roses from our yard.  They were perfect for the table.

The girls each received a Fancy Nancy Tea for Two book as their party favor.

The guests were Jadie, Scout, Abbigale, Grace, and Evelyn.  I somehow missed getting a single shot of Evelyn though.
I was grateful to have Katie help the girls make their tea party hats. They each chose their flowers and ribbons and Katie hot glued them on.

For games we played pin the teacup on the saucer, a sugar cube relay into the teapot, and hot teacup (hot potato).

Mother's Day 2014

Brendan made me a wonderful Mother's Day brunch with quite the spread.  Being a mother had been pretty rough the past year, but I can actually say things are finally looking up.  I love my three littles!

Niels Turns 1

This happy baby is so much fun!  At 1 he just started getting his top 4 teeth and bottom 2 teeth at the same time.  He loves to smile, and he tries to keep up with Hazel and Hattie.  He is such a joy to have in our family!

The day of Niels' birthday we went up Hobble Creek Canyon with my Sister Paige and her family and had tin foil dinners and s'mores.  The following day was Sunday and we did a little family party with Brendan's parents and Blake and Katie.

Paige and Blake's Birthdays

At the end of April we unfortunately had a funeral in Salt Lake for my cousin, and so we had family come into town.  Everyone was here except my dad, and two of my sisters and their families.  It was the same weekend as Blake's birthday and a couple of days away from Paige's, so we celebrated together as a family dinner and ice cream cakes.

For some reason it became a game to see who could jump and touch the ceiling with their head.  I love all of the onlookers.  I think Blake was the only one that could actually do it.

Easter Sunday and BYU Easter Egg Hunt

Tuesday, June 24, 2014
Brendan has a friend that does watercolor paintings and we wanted her to do one of our family, but we needed a current picture, so on Easter Sunday we went and took some photos.  The watercolor painting turned out really cute too!

Oh and I made my favorite carrot cake recipe because it was Easter.

BYU Egg Hunt

This was our first year going to the BYU Easter Egg hunt, and it was complete chaos.  We will definitely not be going back next year.  It started out with us getting there an hour before it started and waiting in line.  There were 2 different times posted online, so I wasn't sure.  We met up with my friend Tabitha and her cute kids, and my sister Paige and her kids too.  They let the parents go on the field and there were so many people that it was hard to find your kids.  Luckily we didn't lose anyone.

Later in the evening at Rock Canyon Park there was a spring festival that we went to.  It was a lot of fun, and there was a beautiful sunset.
